San Simeon Travel Updates
National Forest Closure
The Los Padres National Forest is temporarily closed due to fire conditions throughout the state. All forest roads, campgrounds, trails, trail camps and day use areas in the Los Padres National Forest are closed, effective August 31 through September 17, 2021. For the latest updates, click here.
San Simeon is open and excited to welcome visitors back to our coastal getaway. As of September 1, 2021, a San Luis Obispo county-wide mask mandate has been put in-place for all public indoor spaces. Businesses are open and no other COVID related travel restrictions are in-place at this time.
There are a few businesses that are temporarily closed. We look forward to hosting you again once reopened.
Hearst Castle State Park Remains Closed
The Hearst Castle State Park remains closed due to needed road repairs. There is no definitive reopening date, but closure will likely be through the summer. For the most up-to-date Hearst Castle information, please continue to follow us on Facebook.
San Simeon Chamber Visitors Center Closure
The San Simeon Chamber Visitors Center will be closed until further notice. We understand that this is a very important time for visitors to obtain timely and accurate information and take this action seriously. We look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
Coastal Discovery Center Closure
The Coastal Discovery Center is currently closed to the public. For additional information and updates, please visit Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary website.
