The Cambria Film Festival introduces its first-ever virtual film festival with a special tribute to local filmmakers and the Festival’s first three years. The event is also a chance for local festival lovers to experience a film festival from the comforts of home.
This online mini-festival features some of the Festival’s favorite highlights from its first three years—along with new treats. For one small fee, participants can watch the 2018 Audience Award Winning feature, Wild Prairie Rose. This film explores love in unexpected places and times. When a small-town girl returns home to care for her mother, she meets a deaf man and, eventually, true communication.
Guests can also enjoy the latest from our 2019 opening night filmmaker, Dina Mande, as we screen her recent documentary about Paso Robles winemakers, Tin City. The mini-festival also explores the local filmmaking scene with an updated reprise of our 2020 Local Filmmaker showcase. Finally, the Festival pays tribute to Cambria-based filmmaking brothers, Carlos and Kyle Plummer, in a special retrospective.
Passes that permit streaming all the films cost only $10, and go on sale August 13 at www.cambriafilmfestival.com. The pass also includes access to recorded Q&A with the filmmakers and a live-streaming discussion and online after party on Saturday, August 29.
The films will be available for streaming on demand beginning Thursday, August 27, through Sunday, August 30. Guests can watch at their convenience on their smartphone, tablets, personal computers or project to their televisions with common apps like Roku, AppleTV and Chromecast.
