CAMBRIA ROTARY’S 5K WALK/RUN TO END POLIO

Please join us on Saturday, October 19th for Cambria Rotary’s 5K Walk/Run for Polio and experience the breathtaking beauty of the Fiscalini Ranch Trail while making a tangible impact on the lives of children worldwide. The threat of polio is rising fast in the Gaza Strip, prompting aid groups to call for an urgent pause in the war so they can ramp up vaccinations and head off a full-blown outbreak. One case has been confirmed, others are suspected, and the virus was detected in wastewater in six different locations in July. On August 16, 2024, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the first case of polio in an unvaccinated 10-month-old child in Gaza. Sadly, that child is now paralyzed. The importance of protecting innocent lives cannot be overstated. It is more important than ever that we END POLIO NOW! Please join us as we Walk/Run for those who can’t, especially those children in Gaza who have already endured so much.

So, lace up your sneakers and embark on an unforgettable journey along the picturesque Pacific Ocean. This event presents a golden opportunity to contribute to the fight against polio, a disease that continues to disrupt the lives of children in various corners of the globe. As you traverse the trail, your steps will echo a message of hope and progress for those affected by this debilitating illness. Whether you prefer to stroll leisurely or sprint towards the finish line, your participation will send ripples of change resonating across communities. United, we can champion the eradication of polio, paving the way for healthier futures for countless children. So, mark your calendars, gear up, and be prepared to immerse yourself in the natural grandeur surrounding the Fiscalini Ranch Trail, all while being part of a global movement striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of little ones. Event registration or donations accepted at 5K Polio Walk/Run or go to CambriaRotaryFundraiser.org. $25 to participate or sponsor a participant. 9am start at Shamel Park.
