October is a fun time to visit Cambria and San Simeon, when hundreds of creative scarecrows take over the coast during the annual Cambria Scarecrow Festival.

This free, family-friendly event showcases whimsical displays throughout the communities.

In Cambria, find scarecrows throughout the East and West Villages and along Moonstone Beach Drive.

In San Simeon, look for displays along Castillo Drive and Hearst Drive.
